2020 CSA Week 16

Hi Everyone,
I can't believe there are only 2 more weeks in the CSA! The season seemed to really fly by this year. We had our first real frost on Tuesday, and it looks like more cool days and nights are in the forecast. The smokey haze in the sky has set a strange backdrop for the week, and we've all felt a little unsettled. Our thoughts are with the millions of people on the West Coast dealing with this true catastrophe. The natural world is extremely fragile and it's up to all of us to take care of it. The situation with wildfires in the west is very complicated and I don't know all the answers, but I do know that growing food on a small scale, sustainably, organically, with the local community acting as both the producer and consumer, can play a part in caring for our environment. So thanks for supporting a local grower and taking part in a sustainable farming operation. We appreciate you!

Alrighty- here are some recipes
1) Autumn Salad
A light, sweet and tart salad with red cabbage, red onion, apple and walnuts.
Delicata may be my favorite squash- it's so easy, so sweet, and it looks cool, too. It's great on a chilly night!
3) Potato and Celery Root Mash
Celeriac (Celery Root) has such a unique fresh flavor! This dish would pair wonderfully with a roast or pork chops. Or just have it on it's own!
Another way to cook up that cabbage! I also heard it's great with bacon.
Alright everyone, have a great week! Best,
