Week 6

Hi everyone,
It was a crazy week, so sorry this is late, and it will be brief-
Things are good at the farm, and with the warm dry weather, Sue & Claude made a lot of beautiful hay, and the rain yesterday will go a long way to rejeuvenating some of the crops that were starting to be unhappy with all the heat and dryness. The peas are winding down, but the beans are right on their tail as well as the cucumbers, and both should be in your bags soon.

In Your Bag:
Salad Mix
Swiss Chard
Snow Peas
Sugar Snap Peas
Summer Squash
Spring/Pearl Onions

Here are some recipe ideas to try:
1) Pasta with Chard and Dried Cherries
This is a Moosewood recipe (so there's your sign of quality!) that is a different take on Chard. I like it quite a lot!
2) Herb Roasted Potatoes and Pearl Onions
When in doubt about what to do with a particular vegetable, for greens, I recommend sauteing, but for everything else, I recommend roasting. It's almost always a great idea. These onions are also great grilled whole or halved (with their tops!) on the grill.
Sorry it's brief- Have a great weekend!
All the best,
