Week 6

Hi everyone,
Today was a truly beautiful day. When Tuesday's storm finally broke the hot spell, it was such a relief. And the rain was very very welcome. We could use more of it, but the half inch that fell softened the soil and gave the plants a new lease on life. We have some new summer vegetables coming in this week, and there should be more soon. The new arrivals so far are beans, summer squash, and hot peppers. Some of my favorite vegetables!

In Your Bag:
Salad Mix
Sugar Snap Peas
Snow Peas
Green & Yellow Beans
Hot Peppers
Pearl Onions
Parsley
Summer Squash
The recipe options are steadily increasing! If you have any particular methods or recipes you like to use with any of these vegetables, please share them with me! I'm always looking for new ideas-
If you haven't used up your pearl onions from last week, combine them with the new batch and make up a dish of caramelized pearl onions, or tossed with balsamic vinaigrette.

1) Green Beans with Garlic Chips and Olive Oil
I love crispy garlic, and I love beans, so this recipe really works for me.
This is a common summer meal at our house; it's quick, it's flexible, and it's very tasty. Feel free to add or subtract veggies depending on what you have at home. But summer squash, peas, onions, garlic are all excellent options.
I just came across this recipe as an interesting way to use that parsley. There are various versions of a parsley pesto out there, but this seems like a fun, easy way to make a tasty dinner.
Well, I hope you all have a great week and find ways to stay cool while enjoying the outdoors. Go jump in a lake!
All the best,
