Week 14

Hi everyone,
What a beautiful day today! 68 degrees, sunny, clear, light breeze— it's exquisite! I wish we could order up a whole month of days like this one. But we'll do our best to enjoy it fully.
Not much to report, otherwise. We have 6 more weeks of the CSA to go, in case you were wondering.

In Your Bag:
Green Cabbage
Summer Squash
Yellow Onions
Garlic
Purple-Skin Potatoes
Parsley
Eggplant
Tomatoes
Cherry Tomatoes
Cabbage! All sorts of new options with that vegetable... You can cut it up for a salad, of course, but there are lots of possibilities.
This is from one of my favorite Moosewood Cookbooks—It's a tasty, warm, satisfying meal!
A sister recipe from the same book. It still uses the cabbage, but with a very different treatment.
3) Turlu Turlu
I posted this recipe a few weeks ago, but it's really perfect for using the veggies for this week: squash, eggplant, potatoes, parsley, garlic and onion. Remember it's fine to use yellow onions instead of red, yellow squash instead of pure zucchini, purple-skin potatoes instead of yukon, etc.
Here's a recipe for a sweet, light, healthy version of coleslaw. It makes a great salad to go with dinner.
Enjoy the weather, eat good food, and be well—
All the best,
Sarah VanNorstrand
